One of my English Speaking Driver will be waiting for you at the gangway of your cruise , holding a sign with your name stated on it before making your way along the coast to the town of Sorrento where your driver will stop you right at the (Frantoio Gargiulo) olive oil factory, where you can visit the old mill from 1849 frantoio and the modern mill, learn all you need about making olive oil and finally taste the extra virgin olive oil but also different types of it all served with fresh baked bread.
From here you will make your way to a private Limoncello factory to learn all about the making of this famous liquor, the tradition behind it to finally tasting it.
Arriving to the center of Sorrento at 11:30 am, you are taken directly to the restaurant for your cooking class. Your pizza teacher, Pizzaiolo, will give you an apron and a hat to start rolling out the pizza dough in a special aluminum plates to size out pizza, followed by the ingredients: the mozzarella, tomato, basil, and olive oil.
Once your pizza is ready to cook, it will be placed inside a wooden oven and after a few minutes, ready to eat.
In the afternoon you will have free time (about 50 min/1 hour) for a walk through the historical center of Sorrento visiting the old streets, where the alleys cross each other and create a very enjoyable grid. Old buildings with an intriguing architecture, churches, gelato factory, leather shops and inlaid woodwork shops.
Before heading back to the port, it is time to stop at a local winery near Mt. Vesuvius to enjoy an amazing view of the bay of Naples, have a guided tour in the winery, where the famous wine "Lacryma Christy DOC" (tears of Christ) is made and taste 3 different wines (white, red and rosè) served with some appetizers. The day will conclude here, after which you will be returned to the port.
